The principle behind the operation of a fermenter tank is based on the anaerobic respiration of yeast. The process starts with wort that has been heated and mixed with hops to create a nutrient-rich liquid that is then cooled and transferred into the fermenter tank. Yeast is then added to the tank, and the tank is sealed to prevent oxygen from entering.

The yeast begins to consume the sugars in the wort and produces alcohol and carbon dioxide as byproducts. The temperature, pressure, and pH of the tank are carefully controlled to ensure optimal growth and fermentation of the yeast.

Once the fermentation process is complete, the beer is left to rest in the tank for a period of time to allow the yeast to settle to the bottom of the tank. The beer is then transferred to a conditioning tank or to a storage vessel for final aging and carbonation before it is packaged and sold.
