How To Prevent Static Electricity From Stainless Steel Storage Tanks

1. Control the medium injection method. The stainless steel tank should be filled with media from the bottom, although not from the top. If the medium is to be injected from the top, the outlet of the pipe should be inserted into the tank at a depth of 200mm from the bottom of the tank; the flow rate of the medium should be controlled. The higher the flow rate, the more prone to static electricity.

2. Fill with inert guardian gas. In the tank, nitrogen is charged to protect the tank, so that the nitrogen content in the tank is reduced, and explosive gas inclusions cannot be formed on the oil surface of the tank. Even if electrostatic discharge sparks occur in the tank, the safety of the storage tank can be guaranteed.

3. Do not allow water and stainless steel storage tank media to be mixed and transported together, so as to avoid different media being mixed and transported together, do not allow liquid media, oil and gas and compressed air to be transported together, and dehydrate before feeding.

4. Jumper. The floating roof of the floating roof tank should be bridged with the tank wall. Lines and valves, flow meters, filters, pumps, tanks should be bridged when insulating materials or corrosion are used. ground. The storage tank must be grounded, and the common grounding body can be grounded for lightning protection.

5. Install the electrostatic shovel. Install a static eliminator at the end of the pipeline, and inject a charge of the opposite polarity to the charge in the oil to complete the neutralization of the charge and eliminate static electricity. Install a static suppressor.

6. Participate in antistatic additives. Participating in antistatic additives greatly increases the conductivity of the medium, so that the static charge in the medium cannot be accumulated, and soon leaks to the ground through the bridging charge.
